Four of East Tennessee’s most popular storytellers get together for an evening of laugh-out-loud fun with their own brand of Appalachian humor in their production of Talk is Cheap. On Friday, January 30 at 7:30 at LeConte Center (LeConte Hall South) in Pigeon Forge, Bill Landry and Sam Venable are joined by Jim Claiborn and Elizabeth Rose for this FREE performance as part of Wilderness Wildlife Week.
Most folks are familiar with Chattanooga native Bill Landry as producer and host of “The Heartland Series” that airs on WBIR-TV Channel 10. Former outdoors editor for the Knoxville News Sentinel and Knoxville native, Sam Venable has authored 10 books and has worked as a humor columnist since 1985. Jim Claiborn, a teacher, historian and newspaper columnist, is from Morristown and worked as a street performer at Dollywood for 16 years. Another educator, Elizabeth Rose from Etowah (now lives in Kingston), rounds out the group. Rose is a veteran singer/storyteller and leads workshops on storytelling. When these four get together and start telling tales, it’s a real hoot!
A big thanks to Great Smoky Mountain Outfitters for sponsorship of this special performance.
