About Oconaluftee Visitor Center
The Oconaluftee Visitor Center is located inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park just two miles outside Cherokee, North Carolina. The new, eco-friendly facility offers a comfort station with restrooms and drink machines as well as a state-of-the-art museum exhibits telling the stories of the early mountain people. The outdoor Mountain Farm Museum offers a glimpse into early pioneer life in the mountains with exhibits that include a farmhouse, barn, smokehouse, corn crib, applehouse, and others.
